ISO Certification in UAE: Accredited Audits for Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Every Emirate
ISO certification in UAE gives buyers, government tenders, and free zone partners evidence they can check. Accredify Global certifies management systems for companies across the Emirates, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and ISO 22000. We scope each mainland entity, free zone company, and site correctly, and send a tailored proposal after a free scoping review.
What ISO Certification in UAE Involves
ISO certification in UAE is an independent audit of your management system against an international standard. An accredited certification body checks that your processes meet the standard and work in practice. If they do, it issues a certificate valid for three years, with surveillance audits every year. The certificate names your legal entity, sites, and the activities covered.
In the UAE, scope matters more than in most markets. Many groups run a mainland company, one or more free zone entities, and warehouses or project sites in several emirates. Buyers check that the certificate covers the entity that holds their contract and the site that does the work.
Accredify Global is accredited by UAF. Some government and semi-government tenders ask for accreditation by EIAC, the UAE's national accreditation body, or by any IAF member. We read the tender clause with you before you book, so the certificate fits the requirement.
UAE Rules in 2026 That Shape Your Certification
Emissions reporting is now law. Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024 on reducing climate change effects took effect on 30 May 2025. It requires public and private organizations whose operations emit greenhouse gases to measure, record, and report them, with a compliance date of 30 May 2026. Fines run from AED 50,000 to AED 2,000,000.
Data protection is split by jurisdiction. The federal Personal Data Protection Law, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, has been issued, but its executive regulations had not been published as of September 2026. DIFC and ADGM apply their own data protection laws, which are already enforced.
Sector security rules are tightening. Abu Dhabi's Department of Health released ADHICS version 2.0 in May 2024 for healthcare entities. Dubai government entities follow the Dubai Electronic Security Center's Information Security Regulation. ISO 9001:2026 was also published on 16 September 2026, with a transition deadline of 30 September 2029.

ISO Standards UAE Buyers Ask For, Sector by Sector
Most UAE certifications start with a tender, a supplier registration, or a large customer's prequalification form.
| Sector | What buyers check | Standards that help most |
|---|---|---|
| Energy, oil and gas suppliers | Quality, contractor safety, and environment | ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 |
| Construction and contracting | Site safety, project quality, and waste | ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 |
| Logistics, ports, and free zones | Cargo security, warehouse safety, and service | ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 28000 |
| Healthcare and clinics | Patient data, quality, and medical supplies | ISO 27001, ISO 13485, and ISO 7101 |
| Banking, fintech, and DIFC or ADGM firms | Information security, privacy, and continuity | ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and ISO 22301 |
| Food, catering, and hospitality | Food safety, hygiene, and supplier control | ISO 22000, HACCP, and ISO 21401 |
| Technology and government suppliers | Data security, service quality, and AI | ISO 27001, ISO 20000-1, and ISO 42001 |
Standards outside our UAF scope, such as ISO 28000, ISO 7101, and ISO 21401, are available on request. Your proposal names the certification body that will issue each certificate.
How ISO Standards Support UAE Regulations
A certificate never replaces a licence or a regulator's approval. It does give you a working system that makes the obligations easier to meet and prove.
| UAE requirement | Who it affects | How ISO helps |
|---|---|---|
| Climate law (Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024) | Organizations whose operations emit greenhouse gases | ISO 14001 manages environmental obligations; ISO 50001 cuts energy-related emissions |
| Federal PDPL, DIFC and ADGM data protection | Anyone processing personal data in the UAE | ISO 27701 certifies privacy management; our GDPR services cover similar assessments |
| ADHICS (Abu Dhabi Department of Health) | Abu Dhabi healthcare entities | ISO 27001 builds the security system behind the controls |
| Dubai Information Security Regulation | Dubai government entities and their suppliers | ISO 27001 shows suppliers meet security expectations |
| Food safety rules of each emirate | Food manufacturers, caterers, and restaurants | ISO 22000 and HACCP give inspectors documented food safety control |
For security and privacy obligations that need an assessment rather than a certificate, see our cyber security risk assessment and compliance services. Fintech and payment businesses often also need PCI DSS evidence for their card partners.

FAQ: ISO Certification in UAE
Answers on accreditation, tenders, free zones, local laws, cost, and timeline.
How do I get ISO certification in the UAE?
Choose the standard your customers or tenders ask for, build and run the management system, then book a certification audit. An accredited certification body runs a Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit and, if requirements are met, issues a certificate valid for three years with yearly surveillance.
Is Accredify Global accredited for ISO certification in the UAE?
Accredify Global is accredited by UAF for twelve standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001 and ISO 22000. Buyers can check the scope in the UAF directory.
Do UAE tenders require EIAC accreditation?
Some government and semi-government tenders name EIAC, the UAE's national accreditation body, or ask for accreditation by an IAF member. Others accept any accredited certificate. Send us the tender clause before booking so we can confirm.
Can one certificate cover offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi?
Yes, if the sites run the same management system under one organization. A multi-site certificate lists each location, and the audit samples sites every year.
Does a free zone company need a separate certificate from its mainland branch?
Not always. It depends on whether both entities run one management system and how the certificate scope is written. Each legal entity and site must be named correctly on the certificate.
Which ISO standards are most requested in the UAE?
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 are the most common, often audited together. Technology, finance and healthcare businesses add ISO 27001, and food businesses add ISO 22000 or HACCP.
Does ISO 14001 help with the UAE climate law?
It helps. Federal Decree-Law No. 11 of 2024 requires organizations to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions. ISO 14001 gives you the system to manage environmental obligations, and ISO 50001 helps reduce energy-related emissions.
Is the UAE data protection law in force?
The federal law, Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, has been issued, but its executive regulations had not been published as of September 2026. DIFC and ADGM run their own data protection laws, which already apply.
Does ISO 27001 cover ADHICS for Abu Dhabi healthcare?
Not fully. ADHICS is the Abu Dhabi Department of Health standard, and its controls must be met directly. ISO 27001 builds the security management system that makes ADHICS compliance easier to sustain.
Do Dubai government suppliers need ISO 27001?
Dubai government entities follow the Dubai Electronic Security Center's Information Security Regulation, and many pass security expectations on to suppliers. ISO 27001 is the most widely recognized way to show you meet them.
Can audits be done remotely in the UAE?
Parts of an audit can be remote where the rules allow, such as document review. Sites, production and field work are usually audited on site.
How long does ISO certification take in the UAE?
Most organizations with a working management system certify in 6 to 12 weeks from Stage 1 to the certificate. Several sites, several standards or a new system take longer.
How much does ISO certification cost in the UAE?
The fee follows the audit man-days your scope needs, set by headcount, sites, complexity and the standards involved. A free scoping review gives you a tailored proposal.
Can we audit ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 together?
Yes. They share the same structure and can be audited in one integrated audit, which saves audit days and time away from operations.
Does Accredify Global help write our ISO documents?
No. As a certification body we must stay impartial, so we audit and certify but do not write your system. Your team, or a consultant you choose, prepares it.
