What ISO Certification in Peru Proves to Operators and Buyers

ISO certification in Peru is the written finding of an accredited certification body that your management system meets an international standard and is used on the job. Our auditors sample records, talk to supervisors and workers, and walk through offices, packing plants, workshops, or mine camps. If the system conforms, you receive a certificate valid for three years, confirmed by surveillance audits each year.

Mining shapes much of the demand. Copper, gold, and zinc operations in Arequipa, Moquegua, Apurímac, Áncash, and Cajamarca rely on hundreds of contractors. Drilling firms, maintenance crews, haulage companies, caterers, and camp operators all pass operator prequalification. Those reviews often ask for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.

Agro-exports are the second engine. Blueberries, avocados, table grapes, and asparagus leave farms in Ica, La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Piura for buyers in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Fishmeal plants in Chimbote and Pisco serve feed makers abroad. ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 give these buyers a common base for food safety and consistent supply.

Lima and Callao concentrate finance, logistics, and services. Banks, insurers, microfinance lenders, and fintechs answer to the SBS and to foreign partners. Software firms and contact centers serve clients across Latin America. The new port at Chancay, north of Lima, opened in late 2024 and is drawing warehouses and freight forwarders to the coast.

Construction and infrastructure add steady demand. Contractors on roads, irrigation, and energy projects often bid on state work through SEACE, the electronic procurement system. Tender documents sometimes ask for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001, so certified firms enter with a stronger technical file.

Accredify Global is accredited by UAF, and our scope is listed in its public directory. Peru's national quality institute, INACAL, runs standardization and accreditation in the country. If a tender or operator contract names INACAL or another body, send us the clause before you book and we will check the fit.

Peruvian Rules in 2026 That Drive Certification Requests

Data protection has a new regulation. Law 29733 has governed personal data since 2011. Supreme Decree 016-2024-JUS, published on 30 November 2024, replaced its old regulation and took effect on 30 March 2025. The National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), within the Ministry of Justice, enforces it.

Breaches now have a 48-hour clock. Controllers must notify the ANPD within 48 hours of learning of an incident that exposes large volumes of data, sensitive data, or many data subjects. Databases must be registered in the national registry. Fines are set in tax units, and the most serious tier reaches S/ 550,000.

Data protection officers are phasing in. Public entities and organizations that process large volumes of personal or sensitive data must appoint a DPO. The duty applies first to large companies from late 2025 and reaches micro enterprises by November 2028. Each appointment is reported to the regulator within 15 business days.

Standards Peruvian Buyers and Operators Ask For

Prequalification forms and buyer audits differ, but these standards come up again and again.

SectorWhat the buyer worries aboutUsual standards
Mining contractors and camp service firmsHigh-risk work, altitude, and spill preventionISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001
Fruit and vegetable exporters on the coastFood safety and packing-house hygieneISO 22000 and HACCP
Fishmeal and seafood processorsHygiene, traceability, and plant emissionsISO 22000 and ISO 14001
Companies building Law 30424 prevention modelsBribery and corruption riskISO 37001
Banks, microfinance lenders, and fintechsCyber risk and customer dataISO 27001 and ISO 27701
Contact centers and software exportersClient data and service levelsISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1
Textile and alpaca garment makersConsistent quality for export brandsISO 9001 and ISO 14001

Private farm and retailer schemes required by foreign supermarkets are separate programs. ISO 22000 supports them but does not replace them.

Mine contractors gain the most from one integrated system. A maintenance contractor might run a workshop in Arequipa, crews at two mines in the southern copper belt, and an office in Lima. One safety, environmental, and quality system can cover all of them. Auditors then sample the mine crews on rotation, not only the head office. When an operator renews its contractor list, the same certificate answers the safety, spill, and quality questions at once. Fruit exporters follow a seasonal rhythm instead. Packing houses hire large temporary teams for a few months, so we time Stage 2 to see the plant running at full speed.

How ISO Supports Peruvian Requirements

A certificate is not a permit. It is the management system that keeps your controls working between operator, buyer, and regulator reviews.

Rule or systemWho it reachesHow ISO supports it
Law 29733 and DS 016-2024-JUSControllers and processors of personal dataISO 27701 manages privacy duties; ISO 27001 protects the data
Emergency Decree 007-2020 (Digital Trust Framework)Public entities and digital service providers in finance, utilities, health, and transportISO 27001 structures security controls and incident reporting
Law 30424 on corporate liabilityCompanies exposed to bribery and related offensesISO 37001 gives the prevention model an audited structure
Law 29783 on occupational safety and healthAll employers, with stricter mining rules on topISO 45001 runs hazard control, training, and worker participation
Public procurement through SEACEFirms bidding for state contractsCertificates support the technical file when bid rules ask for them

Some needs call for testing rather than certification. Our VAPT services and cyber security risk assessment report against recognized frameworks. Payment companies can add PCI DSS readiness. Exporters with European customers can use our GDPR services alongside Peruvian privacy work. Anti-bribery certification does not by itself protect a company under Law 30424. The prevention model must also fit your real risks and work in practice, which is exactly what an ISO 37001 audit tests.

Common questions

FAQ: ISO Certification in Peru

Answers on mining, agro-exports, Law 29733, Law 30424, cost, and timing.

How do I get ISO certification in Peru?

Identify the standard your operator, buyer, or bid requires and run the system until it generates real records. Then schedule the certification audit. After Stage 1 and Stage 2 confirm conformity, the certificate is issued for three years.

How long does ISO certification take in Peru?

An organization with a working system usually certifies 6 to 12 weeks after Stage 1. Remote mine sites, several standards, or a brand-new system add time.

How much does ISO certification cost in Peru?

We have no fixed price list. The fee depends on the man-days your headcount, sites, risk level, and standards require.

Is Accredify Global accredited?

Yes. UAF accredits Accredify Global for twelve standards, among them ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 37001, and ISO 27001.

Do mining operators in Peru accept a UAF-accredited certificate?

Many accept certificates from accredited bodies in the international recognition arrangement. If a contract names a specific accreditation body, share it before booking.

Does ISO 45001 replace Peru's mining safety regulation?

No. Mining safety rules and Law 29783 are legal duties. ISO 45001 is the management system that helps you meet them and prove it.

Can ISO 37001 support a Law 30424 prevention model?

Yes. ISO 37001 covers risk assessment, due diligence, controls, reporting channels, and monitoring. Those are the building blocks of a prevention model under Law 30424.

How fast must a data breach be reported in Peru?

Under DS 016-2024-JUS, qualifying incidents must be notified to the ANPD within 48 hours of becoming aware of them.

Do we need a data protection officer in Peru?

Public entities and organizations processing large volumes of personal or sensitive data must appoint one. The duty phases in by company size until November 2028.

Does ISO 27701 help with Law 29733?

Yes. It adds privacy roles, processing records, data subject requests, and breach handling to an ISO 27001 system.

Which standard should a blueberry or avocado exporter start with?

Most start with ISO 22000 for food safety, then add ISO 9001 or ISO 45001 as buyers and seasonal workforce needs grow.

Can you audit sites above 4,000 meters?

Yes. We plan induction, medical clearance, and travel days with your team and the operator before the visit.

Can the audit be conducted in Spanish?

Yes. Records can stay in Spanish, and we plan audit language with you during scoping.

Can parts of the audit be remote?

Document review and some interviews can be remote where the rules allow. Mine camps, packing plants, and workshops are audited in person.

Will Accredify Global write our procedures?

No. A certification body must remain impartial, so we audit and certify only. Your staff or an independent consultant builds the system.
