ISO Certification in Morocco: Accredited Audits for Automotive, Aerospace, Agrifood, and Offshoring Firms
ISO certification in Morocco helps automotive and aerospace suppliers stay on European approved-vendor lists, lets fruit and vegetable packers answer retail buyers, and gives offshoring centers audited security for their clients. Accredify Global audits Moroccan organizations against ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, and the other standards in our scope.
What ISO Certification in Morocco Gives Exporters and Service Firms
ISO certification in Morocco is a formal finding by an accredited certification body that your management system meets an international standard and is used on the shop floor, in the pack house, or in the delivery center. Auditors read your records, talk with operators and managers, and walk the site. If the system conforms, you receive a certificate valid for three years, confirmed by a surveillance audit every year.
Morocco sells most of its manufactured goods to Europe, and European customers set the bar. Wiring harness, seating, and stamping plants in Tangier Automotive City and the Kenitra Atlantic Free Zone supply carmakers that expect ISO 9001 as a minimum. Aerospace machining and composites firms at Midparc near Casablanca face similar supplier audits.
Agrifood is the second large group. Tomato, berry, and citrus growers in Souss-Massa around Agadir ship fresh produce north through Tanger Med and by road across the Strait. Fish canneries and processors along the Atlantic coast sell into the same markets. Retail buyers want food safety and traceability they can check, so ISO 22000 often sits next to their own farm schemes.
Offshoring is the third. Contact centers and IT service firms in Casablanca, Rabat, and Fez serve French-speaking clients in Europe. Those clients ask for ISO 27001 and often ISO 27701 before they move customer data to a Moroccan delivery team.
Heavy industry adds energy and environment questions. Phosphate, fertilizer, cement, and steel producers sell to European importers who now report embedded emissions under the EU carbon border mechanism. ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 give them a managed way to measure energy and emissions.
Accredify Global is accredited by UAF, and our scope is listed in its directory. Morocco also has its own standards and accreditation bodies, IMANOR and SEMAC. If a tender or buyer names one of them, share the exact wording before you book and we will confirm the fit.
Moroccan Rules in 2026 That Shape Certification Requests
Personal data falls under Law 09-08 and the CNDP. Law 09-08 was enacted on 18 February 2009 and is applied through Decree 2-09-165. The CNDP oversees it. Most processing must be declared to the CNDP before it starts. Sensitive data, biometrics, and some transfers abroad need prior authorization. Processing without the required declaration or authorization carries fines of MAD 10,000 to 100,000.
Breach notice is not yet a legal duty, but enforcement is rising. Law 09-08 has no mandatory breach notification rule. The CNDP has begun issuing warnings to large controllers, and on 28 November 2025 it adopted five decisions on topics such as cookies and video surveillance in health settings. Offshoring firms should expect clients to test these points.
Cybersecurity Law 05-20 covers the state and critical operators. Law 05-20 was promulgated on 25 July 2020 and is supervised by the DGSSI. It applies to public bodies, vital infrastructure operators, telecom operators, internet service providers, and digital service providers. Covered entities need a security policy, asset classification, a security officer, and incident reporting to the national authority.

Standards Moroccan Buyers and Clients Ask For
Each customer writes its own supplier form, but these standards come up again and again.
| Sector | What the buyer worries about | Usual standards |
|---|---|---|
| Automotive suppliers in Tangier and Kenitra | Defect rates, traceability, and delivery | ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 |
| Aerospace machining and composites | Process control and supplier approval | ISO 9001, with AS9100 context |
| Fruit, vegetable, and fish exporters | Food safety and retailer audits | ISO 22000 and HACCP |
| Contact centers and IT service firms | Client data and service levels | ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and ISO 20000-1 |
| Phosphate, cement, and steel producers | Energy use and emissions data | ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 |
| Textile and garment makers | Quality and workplace safety | ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 |
| Contractors on stadium, rail, and port projects | Site safety and quality records | ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 |
Retail farm schemes and aerospace AS9100 are separate programs with their own rules. ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 support them but do not replace them.
A typical Moroccan exporter runs more than one kind of site. A harness maker may have two plants in a Tangier free zone and an engineering office in Casablanca. A produce group may run greenhouses near Agadir, a packing station, and a sales desk in Casablanca. One integrated system can cover all of them, with each site named on the certificate. Customer auditors then see the same procedures everywhere, and the quality team stops answering the same questionnaire twice.
How ISO Supports Moroccan Requirements
An ISO certificate is not a permit or a CNDP filing. It is the management system that keeps your controls working between customer, regulator, and tender reviews.
| Rule or system | Who it reaches | How ISO supports it |
|---|---|---|
| Law 09-08 on personal data | Controllers processing personal data in Morocco | ISO 27701 organizes declarations, consent, and rights; ISO 27001 secures the data |
| CNDP transfer authorizations | Offshoring firms moving data across borders | ISO 27701 records show where data goes and why |
| Law 05-20 and the DNSSI | Public bodies, vital operators, and digital service providers | ISO 27001 maps well to policy, classification, and incident duties |
| EU CBAM reporting | Fertilizer, cement, steel, and aluminum exporters | ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 structure energy and emissions data |
| Public procurement | Firms bidding through the national tender portal | Certificates support the technical file |
Some needs call for testing rather than a certificate. Our VAPT services and cyber security risk assessment report against recognized frameworks. Exporters selling to European customers can add GDPR work through our compliance services, and manufacturers placing products on the EU market can review CE marking needs. Note that DGSSI qualification of security audit providers is a separate national scheme, distinct from ISO certification.

FAQ: ISO Certification in Morocco
Answers on exports, Law 09-08, Law 05-20, CBAM, cost, and timing.
What are the steps to ISO certification in Morocco?
Pick the standard your customer or tender names, run the system long enough to produce records, and then book the audit. Stage 1 checks readiness and Stage 2 checks the system in use. A conforming organization receives a three-year certificate.
How many weeks does certification take in Morocco?
If the system already works, most firms are certified 6 to 12 weeks after Stage 1. Extra plants, extra standards, or a brand-new system take longer.
What decides the cost of ISO certification in Morocco?
Audit man-days. Headcount, the number of sites, process risk, and the standards in scope set the days, and the proposal lists them before you sign.
Which body accredits Accredify Global?
UAF accredits us for twelve standards, among them ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and ISO 50001.
Will a European carmaker accept our certificate?
Most automotive customers accept accredited ISO 9001 certificates from bodies in the international arrangement. If a customer or IMANOR-based tender names a specific body, send us the clause first.
Does ISO 9001 replace IATF 16949 for car parts?
No. Some carmakers require IATF 16949 from direct suppliers, and that is a separate scheme. ISO 9001 is the base it builds on.
Do we have to declare our processing to the CNDP?
Under Law 09-08, most processing must be declared to the CNDP before it starts. Sensitive data, biometrics, and some foreign transfers need prior authorization.
Must we report data breaches in Morocco?
Law 09-08 has no mandatory breach notice. Clients and the CNDP still expect prompt handling, and ISO 27001 gives you a tested incident process.
Does Law 05-20 apply to our company?
It covers public bodies, vital infrastructure operators, telecom operators, internet service providers, and digital service providers. If you serve one of them, expect its security rules in your contract.
Does ISO 27701 help an offshoring center with Law 09-08?
Yes. It adds privacy roles, records of processing, consent and rights handling, and transfer controls to an ISO 27001 system.
Can ISO 14001 or ISO 50001 help with CBAM?
They do not file CBAM data for you. They give fertilizer, cement, and steel exporters a managed way to measure energy and emissions that importers can rely on.
Can you audit greenhouses near Agadir during harvest?
Yes. We schedule around packing peaks and sample farms over the three-year cycle.
Can the audit run in French?
Yes. Records may stay in French or Arabic, and we confirm the audit language in the proposal.
Is any part of the audit remote?
Document review and some interviews can be remote where the rules allow. Plants, farms, and delivery centers are audited in person.
Do you also write our procedures?
No. A certification body has to stay impartial, so we audit and certify only. Your own team or an independent consultant builds the system.
