ISO Certification in Czechia: Accredited Audits for Automotive Suppliers, Engineers, and Regulated Services
ISO certification in Czechia keeps component makers on approved supplier lists, gives engineering exporters a common language with foreign buyers, and helps providers of regulated services meet the new Cybersecurity Act. Accredify Global audits Czech organizations against ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and the rest of our accredited scope.
What ISO Certification in Czechia Tells Buyers and Regulators
ISO certification in Czechia is an accredited body's verdict that your management system matches an international standard and that staff actually follow it. Auditors trace orders, incidents, and decisions through your records and watch processes on site. Passing earns a certificate valid for three years, confirmed by a surveillance audit in years one and two.
Cars shape the Czech supply base. Final assembly plants in Mladá Boleslav, Kolín, and Nošovice rely on a dense network of tier suppliers for castings, plastics, wiring, and electronics. Purchasing reviews almost always start with ISO 9001, and many add ISO 14001.
Engineering runs deep beyond the car industry. Firms in Plzeň, Brno, and the Moravian-Silesian Region build rail vehicles, turbines, machine tools, and defence equipment for buyers in Germany and further abroad. Glassmakers and jewelry producers around Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou also sell mostly to export customers.
Prague and Brno add a strong digital economy. Software houses, data centers, and service centers support global clients who ask for ISO 27001 before signing. Under the new Cybersecurity Act, many of these firms now have legal security duties of their own.
Accredify Global is accredited by UAF, and our scope can be checked in its public directory. If a tender or customer refers to the Czech Accreditation Institute (ČIA), forward the wording first. We will confirm whether our certificate fits before you commit.
Czech Rules in 2026 That Lead to Certification
A new Cybersecurity Act replaced the 2014 law. Act No. 264/2025 Coll. transposes NIS2 and took effect on 1 November 2025. It replaced Act No. 181/2014 Coll. and is enforced by the National Cyber and Information Security Agency, NÚKIB. Providers of regulated services must notify NÚKIB within 60 days of meeting the criteria, so entities in scope on day one faced a 31 December 2025 deadline.
Two regimes set the depth of duties. Services of higher significance fall under the higher-obligation regime, with fines up to CZK 250 million or 2% of worldwide turnover. The lower-obligation regime carries fines up to CZK 175 million or 1.4%. Security measures are due within 12 months of the registration decision. Incidents need an initial report within 24 hours and a fuller report within 72 hours.
GDPR runs through a short national act. Act No. 110/2019 Coll. on personal data processing took effect on 24 April 2019 and named the Office for Personal Data Protection, ÚOOÚ, as the supervisor. It sets 15 as the age of consent for online services. Personal data breaches still go to ÚOOÚ within 72 hours under GDPR.
Procurement limits rose in 2025. An amendment to Act No. 134/2016 Coll. on public procurement applies to procedures started after 3 April 2025. Small-scale contracts now reach CZK 3 million for supplies and services and CZK 9 million for construction works.

Standards Czech Buyers and Contracting Authorities Expect
Purchasing teams phrase it differently, but the requests tend to land on these standards.
| Sector | What the buyer worries about | Usual standards |
|---|---|---|
| Automotive tier suppliers | Zero-defect delivery and traceable batches | ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 |
| Machinery, rail, and power engineering | Design control and safe assembly halls | ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 |
| Foundries, glassworks, and chemical plants | Energy bills and emissions | ISO 50001 and ISO 14001 |
| Software firms and data centers | Client data and service availability | ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1 |
| Regulated services under Act 264/2025 | Cyber incidents and supplier risk | ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 |
| Breweries and food producers | Hygiene and export documentation | ISO 22000 |
| Medical device makers | Product quality for EU market access | ISO 13485 |
Car makers may also ask tier suppliers for IATF 16949. It is a distinct automotive scheme with its own rules. ISO 9001 forms its base but is not a substitute.
Energy is the quiet driver for heavy industry. Foundries in the Moravian-Silesian Region and glassworks in North Bohemia run furnaces that use large amounts of gas and power. ISO 50001 makes them measure consumption by line, set targets, and review results each quarter. Pairing it with ISO 14001 uses the same meters and the same management review. Export customers asking for carbon data then get figures from a system an auditor has already tested.
How ISO Supports Czech Obligations
A certificate does not replace a NÚKIB decision or a permit. It shows that the controls behind your compliance run every day.
| Rule or system | Who it reaches | How ISO supports it |
|---|---|---|
| Cybersecurity Act No. 264/2025 Coll. | Providers of regulated services in both regimes | ISO 27001 covers risk analysis, incident handling, and supplier security |
| GDPR and Act No. 110/2019 Coll. | All controllers and processors | ISO 27701 records processing and rights requests; ISO 27001 secures data |
| Public Procurement Act No. 134/2016 Coll. | Bidders to ministries, regions, and municipalities | Certificates support qualification and quality criteria |
| DORA, supervised by the Czech National Bank | Banks, insurers, and their ICT suppliers | ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 feed ICT risk and resilience evidence |
| EU sustainability reporting | Large groups and their suppliers | ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 give verifiable environmental data |
Certification answers only part of these duties. Our NIS2 readiness work maps Act 264/2025 requirements to your controls, and VAPT services test systems directly. ICT suppliers to banks can use DORA readiness, and our GDPR services help with privacy gaps. Suppliers to defence programs may face separate security vetting that sits outside ISO.

FAQ: ISO Certification in Czechia
Answers on Act 264/2025, NÚKIB, ÚOOÚ, tenders, cost, and timing.
How do I get ISO certification in Czechia?
Start with the standard your customer or tender names. Run it until it generates evidence such as internal audits and a management review. An accredited body then performs Stage 1 and Stage 2 and grants a three-year certificate when the system conforms.
How long does ISO certification take in Czechia?
Once the system is running, certification usually follows 6 to 12 weeks after Stage 1. Groups with several plants or new systems need longer.
How much does ISO certification cost in Czechia?
There is no fixed fee. Each offer reflects the man-days needed for your headcount, sites, process risk, and chosen standards.
Is Accredify Global accredited?
Yes. UAF accredits Accredify Global for twelve standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and ISO 50001.
Will Czech contracting authorities accept a UAF-accredited certificate?
Many accept certificates from bodies within the international arrangement. If the tender names ČIA or another body, send the clause and we will check the fit first.
Does Act 264/2025 require ISO 27001 certification?
No. The act requires security measures, incident reporting, and risk management. ISO 27001 gives those duties a tested structure and independent evidence.
How do I know if my company falls under Act 264/2025?
The test depends on your sector, service, and size. NÚKIB runs a self-identification process on its portal. Providers must notify within 60 days of meeting the criteria.
What is the difference between the higher and lower regimes?
The higher-obligation regime has more detailed security measures and fines up to CZK 250 million or 2% of turnover. The lower regime has lighter duties and fines up to CZK 175 million or 1.4%.
How quickly must a cyber incident be reported to NÚKIB?
An initial report is due within 24 hours and a fuller report within 72 hours of detecting a significant incident.
How fast must a personal data breach go to ÚOOÚ?
Under GDPR, a notifiable breach must be reported to ÚOOÚ within 72 hours of the controller becoming aware of it.
Can ISO 9001 replace IATF 16949 for a car maker?
No. IATF 16949 is a separate automotive scheme. A mature ISO 9001 system is the usual first step toward it.
Does ISO 50001 make sense for a foundry or glassworks?
Often, yes. Furnaces and compressed air use a lot of energy, and the standard turns metering into targets and reviews.
Can audits be held partly in Czech?
Records and interviews can stay in Czech. Tell us during scoping so the audit team and any interpretation are planned in advance.
Can parts of the audit be remote?
Document review and some interviews can be remote where the rules allow. Plants, halls, and offices are audited in person.
Will Accredify Global write our documents?
No. A certification body must remain impartial, so we audit and certify only. Your team or an independent consultant builds the system.
