What ISO Certification in Argentina Proves to Buyers and Operators
ISO certification in Argentina means an accredited certification body has checked that your management system meets an international standard and works in practice. Auditors read your records, talk to supervisors and staff, and walk through crushing plants, wineries, offices, or field camps. A conforming system receives a three-year certificate. A surveillance audit each year keeps it valid.
Agribusiness is the backbone of export demand. Soybean meal, soybean oil, corn, wheat, and beef leave through the river ports of Gran Rosario and through Bahía Blanca. Foreign importers and traders want proof of food safety, traceability, and steady quality. ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 give crushers, mills, and meat plants a common language with those buyers.
Energy and mining bring a second wave of requests. Shale development in Vaca Muerta, in Neuquén, relies on drilling, fracking, transport, and camp-service contractors. Lithium projects in Jujuy, Salta, and Catamarca draw engineering and logistics suppliers. Operators in both fields screen vendors for ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 before awarding work.
Software and services form the third group. Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, and Mendoza host development studios and service centers that sell to clients in the United States and Europe. Those clients send security questionnaires, and ISO 27001 answers most of them in one document.
Accredify Global is accredited by UAF, and our scope appears in its public directory. If a tender or a client contract names a specific accreditation body, send us that wording before you book. We will confirm whether our certificate fits.
Argentine Rules in 2026 That Drive Certification Requests
Personal data falls under Law 25,326. The Personal Data Protection Law dates from 2000 and is enforced by the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP). Many private databases must be entered in the national registry the AAIP keeps. The European Commission has treated Argentina as offering adequate protection since 2003. Argentina has also approved the modernized Convention 108+ protocol through Law 27,699.
Breach handling rests on guidance rather than a clock. Law 25,326 sets no general deadline for reporting a breach. AAIP Resolution 47/2018 recommends security measures, including documented incident management. Buyers and banks therefore look for a working incident process, which ISO 27001 provides.
Companies can be criminally liable for bribery. Law 27,401 of 2017 makes legal entities liable for corruption offenses committed for their benefit. An adequate integrity program can reduce penalties, and it is a condition for certain larger contracts with the national state. ISO 37001 gives that program an audited structure.

Standards Argentine Buyers Request Most
Each buyer audit and tender file is different, but these pairings come up again and again.
| Sector | What the buyer worries about | Usual standards |
|---|---|---|
| Oilseed crushers, grain mills, and port terminals near Rosario | Food safety, contamination, and traceability | ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 |
| Beef, dairy, and fruit processors | Hygiene and export market access | ISO 22000 and HACCP |
| Wineries in Mendoza and San Juan | Consistent quality for importers | ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 |
| Oilfield and camp-service contractors in Neuquén | Worker safety and spill prevention | ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 |
| Lithium and mining suppliers in the northwest | Water use, waste, and site safety | ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 |
| Software studios and service centers | Client data and secure delivery | ISO 27001 and ISO 20000-1 |
| Banks, payment firms, and fintechs | Cyber risk and service continuity | ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 |
| Public works contractors and state suppliers | Integrity and contract quality | ISO 37001 and ISO 9001 |
Export health certificates issued by SENASA are official controls. ISO 22000 supports them but does not replace them.
Knowledge-economy firms have a direct incentive. Law 27,506 created a promotion regime for software, IT services, and other knowledge-based activities. To enter it, a company must meet at least two of three conditions, and a recognized quality certification is one of them. Micro enterprises need only one. Many software firms therefore choose ISO 9001 or ISO 27001 as their quality route, then keep the certificate current to stay in the regime.
How ISO Supports Argentine Requirements
A certificate does not replace a permit. It keeps your controls working between buyer audits, bank reviews, and inspections.
| Rule or system | Who it reaches | How ISO supports it |
|---|---|---|
| Law 25,326 and AAIP Resolution 47/2018 | Any organization holding personal data | ISO 27701 runs privacy duties; ISO 27001 secures the data |
| BCRA Communication "A" 7724 | Financial entities supervised by the central bank | ISO 27001 maps to its technology and security risk controls |
| Law 27,401 on corporate criminal liability | Companies, especially state contractors | ISO 37001 structures the integrity program |
| Law 19,587 and Law 24,557 on work safety | Every employer, with ART insurance | ISO 45001 organizes hazard control and incident records |
| Law 25,675, the General Environmental Law | Industrial, energy, and mining activities | ISO 14001 tracks permits, impacts, and legal duties |
| Knowledge Economy Law 27,506 | Software and knowledge-based firms seeking benefits | ISO 9001 or ISO 27001 can meet the quality condition |

FAQ: ISO Certification in Argentina
Answers on agro-exports, Vaca Muerta, Law 25,326, Law 27,401, cost, and timing.
How do I get ISO certification in Argentina?
Pick the standard your buyer, operator, or tender requires. Run the system long enough to build records, then book the audit. After Stage 1 and Stage 2 show conformity, you receive a three-year certificate.
How long does ISO certification take in Argentina?
A company with a working system usually certifies 6 to 12 weeks after Stage 1. Sites in several provinces or a brand-new system take longer.
How much does ISO certification cost in Argentina?
We do not publish a price list. Your fee reflects the man-days needed for your headcount, sites, risk level, and standards.
Is Accredify Global accredited?
Yes. UAF accredits Accredify Global for twelve standards, among them ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001, and ISO 37001.
What if a tender asks for an OAA-accredited certificate?
The OAA is the national accreditation body, and IRAM is the national standards body. If a tender names either one, share the exact wording before you book and we will confirm the fit.
Does ISO 9001 help a software firm enter the Knowledge Economy regime?
It can. Law 27,506 asks applicants to meet at least two of three conditions, and a recognized quality certification is one of them.
Does Argentina require breach notification?
Law 25,326 sets no general reporting deadline. AAIP Resolution 47/2018 recommends documented incident management, and ISO 27001 builds that process.
Does ISO 27701 help with Law 25,326?
Yes. It adds privacy roles, processing records, rights handling, and incident response on top of an ISO 27001 system.
Can ISO 37001 support a Law 27,401 integrity program?
Yes. It sets out risk assessment, due diligence, controls, and reporting channels that an integrity program needs. The court or agency still judges adequacy.
Do Vaca Muerta contractors need ISO 45001?
The law does not require it, but operators often ask for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 in vendor prequalification.
Is ISO 22000 a substitute for SENASA approval?
No. SENASA controls and export certificates are official requirements. ISO 22000 manages food safety and supports those inspections.
Can you audit sites in Neuquén, Jujuy, or Salta?
Yes. We plan travel days into the proposal and agree access and safety induction with the operator in advance.
Can parts of the audit be remote?
Document review and some interviews can be remote where the rules allow. Plants, camps, and port terminals are audited in person.
Can audits run in Spanish?
Tell us at scoping that your records and staff work in Spanish. We plan the audit team and schedule to match.
Will Accredify Global write our procedures?
No. A certification body cannot consult and audit the same client. Your team or an independent consultant builds the system, and we assess it.
